Job Description

The main purpose of this position is to manage and oversee the knitting production division by ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining high-quality standards, optimising resources, and driving continuous improvement to meet production targets and organisational objectives.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION
  • National Senior Certificate
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in textile production/manufacturing
  • Qualification in Operations or Production Management (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of 5S and Kaizen/lean manufacturing principles
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and oversee the overall knitting production process, ensuring targets are met efficiently
  • Plan, implement, and improve workflow, production processes, and quality standards
  • Monitor product quality and enforce quality control systems
  • Manage budgets, cost control, reporting, and resource allocation (staff, materials, equipment)
  • Liaise and coordinate with internal departments, suppliers, and stakeholders
  • Develop, implement, and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and health & safety regulations
  • Analyse production performance, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead, supervise, and develop staff, including performance management and training
  • Oversee stock coordination and ensure smooth day-to-day operations in a 24/7 production environment
