Experienced Millwright needed to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot factory machinery in a manufacturing environment.
Job Description

To maintain, repair, and troubleshoot factory machinery and equipment, ensuring production runs safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. The role also includes preventative maintenance, machine setup, and assisting with breakdowns or machinery improvements when required.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION

Qualifications and experience:

  • National Senior Certificate.
  • Minimum of 5–8 years’ relevant Millwright experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Completed Millwright apprenticeship with a recognised institution.
  • Red Seal qualification.
  • Computer software skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities of the job include:

  • Ensure machinery supports efficient, quality production.
  • Follow the maintenance plan and complete preventative maintenance.
  • Set up machine timing according to manufacturing standards.
  • Perform general mechanical repairs and breakdown maintenance.
  • Repair and maintain factory equipment and general facilities.
  • Operate tools and equipment such as milling machines, lathes, and forklifts.
  • Assist with electrical breakdowns and panel rewiring when needed.
  • Support HSE improvements around machines and moving parts.
  • Troubleshoot machine faults, test equipment, and replace parts.
  • Maintain and update machine maintenance logs.

Skills and abilities:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of industrial machine components.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle stress in a high-pressure production environment.
  • Reliable, organised, and positive attitude.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to work overtime and be available after hours or on weekends when needed.
